2021 Events

2020 started off as what we all thought was going to be a big year, the committee was in full swing planning all the events for the season. Then Covid hit and everything went into lockdown, restrictions put into place which has unfortunately meant that it has put the breaks on for some of our most popular events.

Generally we host three long course events from the 2020 WA Off-Road Racing Championship (WAORC) – the Bencubbin 360 on the June long weekend, the Mid-West Challenge in August, and crowd favourite the Three Springs 360 on the September long weekend. We successfully hosted our Kids Ride Day this was slightly earlier in the year but also held at a new location out at Gidgegannup, where kids from various organisations and charities get to go for a spin in a race car.

Our four competitive events normally would make up our club championship, the 2020 WAORRA Championship Series, giving our members the opportunity to choose between competing at club level or State level, or both.

Unfortunately due to Covid we have had to cancel earlier seasoned events, the committee has been working hard with our property owners, local councils and stakeholders at our various locations during this testing time to accomodate the situation.

At this stage and with a lot of assistance and consultation with Motorsport Australia the committee have submitted their Covid return to race plans for approval so we can hopefully get back out on the track in the near future, hear the roar of the engines and let some dust fly.

We are hopeful and excited to announce that Three Springs will go ahead this year, the committee is in discussion as to what this event may look like and if we adopt our standard of racing if restrictions are still in place by the time the event rolls around then our race format may look somewhat different to the norm, but don’t worry it will still be just exciting and challenging for all our competitors big and small.

Competitors from other clubs and spectators are welcome at all of our events but due to Covid this may have to be restricted to specific numbers, please check our socials for more information – why not come along, check us out in action, and get down and dirty with WAORRA in 2020!
