Bencubbin 360

Round 3 of the 2016 CAMS PGS Industries Western Australian Off-Road Racing Championship

One of the fastest tracks in Western Australia, the Marsue Transport Bencubbin 360 was held over the WA Day long weekend (4-6 June 2016). Starting from the sports oval in the town of Bencubbin, it was a tough, gruelling, long course off-road racing event that covered land across three farming properties. A huge field of 34 cars started the racing on the Saturday, and around 30 cars completed the race on Sunday.

Competitors raced long 75 kilometre laps, consisting of some tight twisty sections among the sandalwood trees, and some high-speed paddock sections. The fast sections were interspersed with several tighter sections to keep the drivers honest, but it was still a very fast track.

Congratulations to Scott Schiller and Reece Burgess (971) for taking out first place. WAORRA members dominated the podium with Brett Smith and Corey Smith (161) in second, and Troy Schoen and Chris Harper (19) in third. In addition to trophies for outright and class event winners, cash prizes were taken out by Darren Agrella and Ryan Barton in car #39 for finishing fastest in the top ten shoot out, and each class winner of the event. Read the full list of results on the myraceresult website.

Thanks again to the Bencubbin branch of the Silver Chain for putting on a special Saturday night dinner for competitors and spectators. With catering available all weekend, a licensed bar, hot showers, clean toilets, a green sporting oval and a playground, this was a great event for sponsors, spectators and families, and one not to be missed in 2017 – hope to see you there!

WAORRA would like to thank major event sponsors for the fourth year running – Marsue Transport.
