Round 1 of the 2017 WAORRA Championship Series kicked off with the 2017 Duke of York Hotel Narrogin Chase in Cuballing on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 May.

In a similar format to previous years, the Narrogin Chase was a multi-club, short-course event that covered approx 135km, consisting of three laps of the 15km course on Saturday and 6 laps on Sunday. With two-at-a-time starts, the field split into two heats, and a spectator viewing area up on the hill allowing 360 degree views of the race track, this was a great event for spectators and families.

Scrutiny and documentation was held at Elders Narrogin on Saturday 6 May, followed by a short street display of all of the race cars, a great opportunity for locals to check out what it’s all about!

Congratulations to Short Course Champion Harleigh Uren who took out first place, Nathaniel Edwards and Luke Mclean in second, and Shane and Curt Elphinstone in third.

There were plenty more success stories throughout the field, with 22 competitors finishing the event in full. For the complete report on lap times and results, head to the myraceresult webpage or check out the event wrap-up article on our website.
